A member asked:

Most evenings i enjoy 8-16 oz and sometimes 20 ounces of wine. is this enough to damage my liver or health?

That's too much.: That amount of wine nightly, more than 1.5 glasses every night, has been shown to increase the chance of liver cirrhosis in women. You may want to reduce your intake to no more than 12 ounces nightly.

Yes: CirrhosisDriver: While there is some evidence wine may decrease CVDs events slightly, in some cultures (e.g. France), these are observational (not double-blind, prospective, placebo-controlled trials) studies and the quantities which seem to correlate with benefit are up to only about 4 oz/day. HIgher quantities, especially with chronic viral hepatitis (easily missed in some), correlate with increased cirrhosis.
