Nose picking: In general, if you smell blood in your nose it is because you have an area that is bruised or sore. Do you pick your nose, have a nasal infection, have you stuck something foreign up there. When you blow your nose, do you get blood? Do you get nose bleeds, if so, look at whether you are bruising or bleeding easily as that might mean there is a problem.

Nose bleed: You may have some minor nasal bleeding or irritation. Try using nasal saline several times a day and see if this clears up. If not see your doctor.
