Since this seems to be from what you say that his symptoms are chronic than it is imperative for him to see an allergist who will test him, find the specific cause of the problem and give your husband treatment to end his suffering.

Yes, there are other: Allergy sufferer only taking loratadine. Loratadine is probably the least effective oral antihistamine. Try cetirizine or fexofenadine instead. Nasal steroid sprays (Flonase, nasacort) are even more effective than oral antihistamines if used consistently (every day) and with proper technique (point outwards towards ear). See allergist to determine what you are allergic to.
