Symptoms not herpes: Herpes sores often itch, tingle, or cause inflamed lymph nodes, but by themselves, these don't suggest herpes. That said, Public Health Canada has a head-in-sand attitude about HSV blood tests, which therefore aren't done frequently. In my opinion, you should be tested because of exposure, but not because of your symptoms. However, my bet is you weren't infected and your test would be negative.
