How it transmits...: How Zika transmits during sex is being studied (2/2016). In an earlier case, Zika virus was found in semen after it was no longer found in his blood, which means that semen MAY be infectious for longer than his blood is. Testing on other body areas, such as the urine, saliva, anus, or vagina is surely being done by doctors this week. For now, avoid intimate contact for 1 month after Zika exposure.
