Yes, but it may be: ...overkill. Fluconazole & Neosten both treat yeast vaginitis, altho resistance can rarely occur. The antibiotic cefuroxine is NOT used to treat yeast infections. Antibiotics can kill of healthy vaginal bacteria and allow yeast to take over. Perhaps your doctor was treating something else as well. All of these meds are considered safe after the 1st trimester.
