A member asked:

Is the gynecologist supposed to wear gloves when examining a woman's vagina?

Were not in M*A*S*H: YES!, YES and YES!! For your safety and for the Gynecologist's safety, for ethical reasons and for plain hygiene, for any other reasons that anyone else could make up and for all reasons in the universe, the answer is YES. Gloves do not decrease tactile accuracy or sensitivity (like very thin condoms), don't make fingers slippery, are inexpensive, etc.No excuse to be ungloved.(Unless at "war site)

Yes: very much so, but often a single glove will do.
