Yes: Untreated (or under treated) hypothyroidism can effect essentially the whole body. Joint paints, stiffness, achiness and even some swelling can occur: although, these are less common symptoms. It can more commonly cause muscle aches and pains. If you are predisposed it could also precipitate a flair of gout.

Hypothyroidism &pain: Studies show that hypothyroidism can be associated with muscle pain and joint pain. The muscle pain has been described as being mostly in the shoulders and hips, and the joint pain mostly in the knees,hands & wrists. However, it is a complicated matter as both joint pain and hypothyroidism can separately coexist and patients with hypothyroidism are at higher risk for other autoimmune joint disease
