A member asked:

Is the swank diet really beneficial to ms long term? getting varying opinions from specialist and dr.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Current concepts: The Swank diet was useful years ago, prior to the advent of disease modifying therapies, but is excessively complex and not very user friendly. I no longer recommend this approach, as an easier path is just to follow a low fat, low salt diet, and take a potent medication, such as Gilenya, Tysabri, (natalizumab) or Lemtrada. Vitamin D supplements are important also.
