Let's talk: You want to smoke weed because you are used to smoking weed every day, probably . No judgement here just reality. Cannabis has well known addictive powers and your body most likely is talking to you. There is no problem smoking /using cannabis the day after surgery. The combination of your pain killers and Cannabis will magnify any central CNS ( brain) effect. Be cautious.

Wouldnt recommend it: You may be having more pain because you are being too active, or you may need to use a sling. If you are having pain despite medication, the appropriate thing to do is talk to the prescriber or someone in his/her office. Adding an OTC medication like ibuprofen may help, but advice should come from YOUR doctor or YOUR pharmacist rather than your dope dealer. Smoking after surgery is not ever good.
