Possible: If you have other allergic conditions such as hay fever and the tonsil swells up during the peak allergy season, then the answer is yes. On the other hand, if the swelling is progressive or perennial, then one needs to consider other causes as well and an ENT evaluation may be needed.

Could difficulty swallowing be more than an allergy? I woke up this morning with difficultly breathing out of my mouth and swallowing. After gagging and vomiting, i was able to take sips of "hot" water, which kinda helped with what seemed like swelling.
