Amenorrhea: Pregnancy is the most common cause of amenorrhea (missed period) in a sexually active female in the reproductive age group . Other causes include extremes of weight (obesity/PCOS - underweight/eating disorders). If pregnancy has been excluded, other causes should be excluded/ worked-up only after 3-6 months, depending if periods are regular or not. A detailed history and physical is needed.
