No: No very few people develop Barrett's esophagus despite the very common problem of acid reflux related esophagitis. And only a small proportion of patients with Barrett's develop carcinoma. And with routine monitoring, Barrett's can be detected and burnt away early, reducing risk of any cancer. So don't worry. Just follow regularly with a GI doctor.

Erosive esophagitis: Chronic irritation to the esophagus is a predisposer for Barrett's esophagus, not everybody had erosive esophagitis will develop Barretts.
