Concerning: This could be a pneumothorax or esophageal irritation. Another option is acute bronchitis. Probably that but even deeper, alveolitis. If it was brought on by the smoking, and gets worse with symptoms of shortness of breath, go to the ED right away. Otherwise, just wait it out and see what happens. Take a break from smoking.
