Pain free sleep: I highly recommend you get a memory foam topper for your mattress it will make it more comfortable for you and take pressure off your joints while you sleep. One should also have a good pillow that supports your cervical spine. If you have significant night pain, you should visit a physician to evaluate that night pain. Good luck.

Arthritis: Nite time joint pain occurs when there is moderate to severe loss of the articular surface. Treatment with consistent use of NSAIDs, intermitant injections of a few cortisone shots, and or viscosupplement injections. Limit daytime activities which causes pain with that activity, trial with exercise in a pool.
