Ultrasound: Women may experience a menstrual period, even thought they are pregnant. You may have conceived a round November 19 and on January 17 wound be about ten weeks pregnant. An ultrasound exam would pick up a pregnancy, and confirm that the pregnancy is inside and not outside the uterus.

Bleeding confusion..: This is a confusing situation; however, sometimes you can have bleeding in early pregnancy that is mistakenly thought to be a period. The best thing to do is to see an Ob provider who can do an ultrasound and date the pregnancy correctly. Its also a good idea to start on pre-natal vitamins and avoid anything that would harm the baby. Best wishes!
