Unfortunately: a "failed" repair is a possibility. You should , however, have another attempt at splinting,steroid injection , and Hand Therapy before undergoing a second surgery. Seek out a second opinion (from a Board Certified HAND surgeon) Hope this helps! Good Luck Dr Z
