Do the pros for being on topomax at a higher dose outweigh the pros of other preventatives for headaches. topomax hasn't been helping in the past.

Analysis: Topamax (topiramate) at higher dosing may be useful, but sounds like it has been disappointing in past, and may not be your best choice. Depakote works well but due to risk of ovarian cysts and birth defects, cannot recommend for females. Naproxen is a good choice, and OTC use of butterbur, riboflavin, magnesium, Co-Q10 may work and all are far safer.
