Age issues: Risk of a chromosome defect rises to about 1% by 35, the same risk as an amnio, so historically it became a marker for age issues.There is always a basic risk (~4% ) of unexpected outcome with any pregnancy.Today we have non-invasive ways to monitor those risks, and many women are quite successful with pregnancies into their 40's.A visit with a genetic counselor may give you more comforting info.
