See your doctor: Routine blood tests won't detect herpes. It's not curable; herpes infections persist for life. However, the likelihood of recurrent symptoms is highly variable, depending on virus type (HSV1 or 2), site of infection (oral or genital), and so on. Many infected persons have no symptoms. If you are concerned about having herpes, see your doctor and take it from there. Good luck!
