Wading thru flood: Regular soap should be OK . Maintain a good hygiene and you should be fine.

Just soap...: It's all in the chemistry: Soap is essentially a two-part molecule. One part attaches to the dirt (or foreign particles). The other part dissolves in the water (so it can be rinsed away). You simply need to use enough of the soap to attach to all the molecules. The other part involves agitating things so the soap gets in contact with all the dirt.

Probable not...: but avoid wading in this water if you have open cuts or sores on your feet/legs or anywhere else that may come in contact with potentially polluted water.
