Penetration: Penetration isn't necessary for pregnancy to occur as if precum(which can contain sperm) or sperm itself gets anywhere near the vaginal area, conception is possible although not probably apt to occur. In your specific case pregnancy would not be possible with you're having a normal period at the time as ovulation wouldn't occur for at least a week later and sperm is only viable for 3-5 days.
