Tell MD: Be sure to tell your physician about the yeast infection as it might not be recommended to place an iud with an infection going on.

IUD and infection: Yes, it matters if you are having a surgical procedure and have an infection, because the infection can be carried upward with the device placement. I would suggest clearing up the infection first and then having the iud placed.
