IUD and infection: Yes, it matters if you are having a surgical procedure and have an infection, because the infection can be carried upward with the device placement. I would suggest clearing up the infection first and then having the iud placed.

I was dx with a yeast infection & my rx is for Terazol 3 day kit. How far do you have to insert it for it to be most effective? I did the first applicator tonight and didnt get very far, I am very swollen/irritated and it was painful to insert it.
