A member asked:

How to know if one has genital herpes only not oral if there were never sores or lesions on genitals?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood test: There are blood tests for both HSV 1 and 2. Genital infection is usually caused by HSV 2. Lack of genital lesions does not rule out HSV 2 infection. It would be prudent to consult your doctor for proper testing.
