MRI: Not enough history to give a good idea as to what it may be. However, along the left side of the rib cage, muscle injury a consideration. Nerves and bone and fatty tissue all reside in that space. To help decide what it might be, MRI can help. Between the ribs, arteries are located. It becomes important to know what happened and what it is. That's why I suggest MRI. You should talk to your doctor
