Oral contraceptives: There is always a chance of pregnancy. You minimize that chance by taking birth control pills every day, on time. If you miss some pills your chance of pregnancy increases. If you are careful and take birth control pills regularly every day, you should be protected after two weeks assuming you were not already pregnant sometime within those two weeks. The condom is to protect against STI/STDs.
