Try this.: if pantoprazole helps, then the pain is due to stomach acid, most likely due to acid reflux. I recommend that you take pantoprazole daily before breakfast for two weeks. At that point stop the medication. If the problem returns, then you need to see your doctor. You should follow anti-reflux measures. Don't take the pantoprazole for longer than two weeks without your doctors permission. Good luck.
