Anti-convulsant: Some drugs that are used to treat seizures are GABA reuptake inhibitors. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter and has an anti-seizure effect. These drugs reduce the reuptake of GABA into neurons and glia thereby increasing the amount of GABA available to interact with GABA receptors.
