Hernias can do a lot: The "posterior cutaneous nerve" I think is AKA posterior division of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN). LFCN problems mess up feeling in the front, outside of the thigh. Symptoms usu. happen with seat belt inj., bone grafts and diabetes. There are many weird hernias in the pelvis so it seems possible to compromise the LFCN but in 30 yrs of reading CT and MRI, I've not seen it.
