I have intense heartburn. should i vomit for relief?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prevent/Control GERD: Avoid foods & behavior that delay stomach emptying &/or relax lower esophageal sphincter--spicy, greasy food, mints, alcohol, tobacco, chocolate, tomato-based products, caffeinated &fizzy drinks, eating before bedtime. Lose weight. Elevate head of bed on blocks. Try OTC acid blockers for relief. See a GI doctor esp.if persistent--but DON'T induce emesis & risk the significant consequences of same.
