Might be hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids can appear red/purple, especially if they are engorged, thrombosed, infected. Use sitz baths and see your physician or proctologist to check for the presence of internal or external hemorrhoids. Sometimes further therapy is necessary to treat the hemorrhoids.
