UpperRespiratoryInfx: Sounds like you're describing an upper respiratory infection, which are mainly caused by viruses, which don't respond to antibiotics, whether you call it a cold or bronchitis. Technically speaking, chronic bronchitis (http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/bronchitis/basics/definition/con-20014956) is diagnosed after productive cough for 3mo in each of last 2yrs.
