See dermatologist: Allergy reaction does not cause pain but an infection or vasculitis can. If this occurs only on one side of the body , one needs to rule out shingles which can be brought on by stress in a person of your age. Do consult your doctor since early treatment with an antiviral drug may reduce the complication from shingles. Whether shingles or not, they need be looked at ASAP.
