A member asked:

Can having rough sex injure your cervix? is it more likely to cause cervical cancer?

No: If you have unprotected sex with partner(s) exposed or carrier of HPV, then you can potentially develop cervical dysplasia and cancers.

Unlikely . . .: If you're referring to plain ol' penile-vaginal sex with a bit more effort, then "rough" vigorous sex should not injure your cervix any more so than "romantic, artful" (?) sex, which is to say, no. Unprotected sex w/multi-partners, whether all at once or just over time, can increase risk for cervical cancer via HSV infection. One last thought: if you use toys, then I suppose injury is possible.
