Whiplash: This was a classic whiplash injury of the neck-acute strain of the neck muscles and ligaments. Treatment consists of cold applications for 48 hours to minimize swelling and reduce pain and,if you can take them, nsaids like Advil (ibuprofen). Follow this with intermittent warm applications,and if you develop severe neck pain on motion, wear a soft cervical collar off and on. If needed see your physician.
