A member asked:

How quickly does an air embolism occur and after trauma ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Air emboli: Air embolism occurs fairly quickly as soon as air enters a vein. Small air embolism may be very silent. Bone emboli are more common after trauma. Since I don't have experience with post traumatic air embolism, an emergency room physician or trauma specialist is better qualified to answer your question.
