I believe you are: probably experiencing the especially dry skin of winter to which your hands and fingers are very susceptible. Outside air humidity plunges and indoor heating makes it even drier. You're supposed to be washing your hands to avoid a cold...and there you are. Chapped! You need to improve your skin barrier. The way to do that is to replace moisture: look for emollients and humectants, 5-6 times a day!
