Inflammation?: I'm assuming there was a CT done that reported an inflamed sinus cavity. If you have an infection affecting the throat (be it viral, bacterial or otherwise) it is possible the infection involves the sinus. It is more likely, however, that the immune response has "drifted" to the sinus and that there is, in fact, no sinus infection. A physician's examination is needed for treatment decisions.
