A member asked:

My 3 year old was diagnosed with prolonged peristalsis. is there a safe way to slow down the amount of stool that is being produced? she now has diape

A doctor has provided 1 answer

GI peristalsis: is usually stimulated by foods that have a high fiber content, such as the broccoli and cabbage, or foods that pull excess water into the gut, like undigested sugars from excess fruit juices and possibly lactose in milk. A balanced diet is important. Some studies suggest that probiotics or friendly bacteria may help to improve gut bacteria and help digestion.
