Nature of beast: This is not an unusual occurrence with giving laxatives to a child. Not sure which one you used, but be patient. We'd like to get him to a soft daily stool. Mineral oil is one way to accomplish this, might be worth doing a daily stool softener, I use one tablespoon daily as a starter dose. Increase water intake and fruits and veggies. Best of luck!

That's the: PROBLEM with so called "stimulant" laxatives and in fact ALL laxatives. MY OPINION ONLY THERE IS NO PLACE FOR LAXATIVE USE IN CHILDREN! Increasing FLUID INTAKE, FRuITS such as PRUNES, PEARS, APRICOTS should be used! NOTE I AM NOT a PEDIATRICIAN thus I BOW to his/her treatment...the continued pooping is "to be expected" Dr Z
