No worries: Balamuthia can infect anyone, including people who are healthy. Doctors at CDC do not know how to prevent Balamuthia infection since it is unclear how and why some people become infected while others do not. No one knows what the risk of developing disease from Balamuthia exposure is. It's a rare, unpredictable, usually fatal thing. So, go live life and not worry about things one cannot control.
