Angioedema: What you are describing is Angioedema. It comes on suddenly at random, often very inconvenient times and can be quite embarrassing. It may be caused by a reaction to certain medicines, allergy or rarely, heredity. Please see an allergist for a thorough evaluation. If the swelling happens internally like the tongue or causes intestinal cramping go to ER.
