Vaginismus: Dyspareunia aka Painful intercourse caused by vaginismus. For some women the vaginal muscles involuntarily or persistently contract when they attempt vaginal penetration. Vaginismus does not interfere with sexual arousal but it can prevent penetration. The pelvic and pap may be normal. There is treatment including Kegel exercises and vaginal dilators.
