Antibiotics: A urinary tract infection is treated with antibiotics to which the infecting bacteria are susceptable. Uncomplicated bladder infections can be cured with 3 days of treatment while kidney infections need 14 days of treatment. More serious infections can be caused by abnormal urinary tract anatomy, function, or calculi which require diagnostic studies to evaluate.
