Hives: Sounds like mechanically (scratching) induced urticaria or hives and a phenomenon known as dermatographism. If this is new, often helpful to use a long-acting non-sedating antihistamine such as cetirizine. If ongoing (perhaps recurrent for months) or if an antihistamine does not help, then an Allergist or Dermatologist experienced in evaluating urticaria will help. Just one possibility
