You need a dentist: Antibiotics can't cure dental icaries (cavities). You must see a dentist and have it fixed before it turns into a serious mouth infection.

Insurance: Unfortunately your problem will not wait until you have coverage, and even then there will be deductibles and copays. See a dentist ASAP and feel better soon

Waste of time: Topical antibiotics will not cure a dental infection, an abscess. Sorry. No way around this. You need IMMEDIATE dental treatment. Delay will only allow the infection spread, causing damage to other organ systems.

Not Recommended: As any other medication, omnicef (cefdinir) (antibiotic) may cause side effects especially when not used according to the dentist’s instructions. Call your local dental school, their fees are much less than those charged by a private practice.
