Lichinification: Prolonged scratching, rubbing, pinching results in changes like leathery skin which is dense. thick, discolored. If you do something to control the itch so that you stop scratching, the skin will very slowly lose this feature. Probably need a prescription cortisone. Try OTC hydrocortisone.
