Yes & yes: You can become pregnant from unprotected sex during your period if your periods are irregular. Perhaps, it wasn't your regular period but rather spotting. Or perhaps you're already pregnant from prior unprotected sex, then noted implantation bleeding. As for premenstrual syndrome, PMS doesn't make you infertile or protect against pregnancy.
