I'm curious, when a person is diagnosed with cancer, are they given a prognosis?

Of course: There are know cancer statistics for most cancers, based on their cellular differentiation, extent of disease at discovery, and the patient's underlying age and general condition. A board certified oncologist can offer that information once all the pertinent information is available. There is never an absolute. Good luck.
