In skin? Or below?: Hard, soft? If the lump can be pinched/gripped & moved some within the skin, then likely skin lesion, e.g. sebaceous cyst. If the lump is deep & attempting to pinch/grasp it moves only skin & the lump remains firmly fixed/stationary relative to underlying tissue while skin moves over it, then part-of/affixed-to the underlying muscle or bone; important initial clues. Seek help worthy of your trust.
